Over the course of six years (2003 thru 2009), Design House worked closely with the Ontario Tourism Marketing Partnership (OTMP) to establish and promote online content on behalf of key tourism operators in the province’s tourism sector.
Initially the online portal featured Journeys of Discovery, experiential travel packages offered by an alliance of Ontario’s iconic cultural heritage attractions. Over time OTMP’s marketing strategy evolved to the promotion of the Distinctive Getaways brand reflecting new experiential travel getaways: wine and culinary, spa, theatre, girlfriend getaways, outdoor adventure and golf.
In addition to promoting buyable getaways and partner profiles, various versions of the portal incorporated multi-dimensional interactive maps featuring themed travel routes, a travel planner for saving and sharing packages and restaurants of interest, a restaurant finder, an annual theatre playbill, e-newsletter archives, a photo album, and an RSS feed tracking the changing fall colours.
The majority of pages (700+) on the Distinctive Getaways site were dynamic, linked to a client-administered Content Management System.
In fall 2009, the website was updated and migrated into OTMP’s umbrella portal.
OTMP staff provided the following feedback:

of navigation and comprehensive content were the results of a strong
understanding by the Design House team of our needs and a willingness

and creative web-based solutions as the program evolved. Their ability
to meet all deadlines within budget and provide accurate
and complete solutions made management of this project considerably
easier."
