INTERACTIVE GAME : Development
Dig Down, Dig Back in an interactive game created by Design House to simulate what one would experience in the process of conducting an archaeological dig.
Under the guidance of Max the archaeologist, online excavators and researchers choose a square and brush away layers of earth to expose the artifacts that lay hidden within. They record the items and plot locations, then package the artifacts for transfer to the lab. Once in the lab, the items are virtually cleaned, labeled and sorted. Reseachers can then link directly to relevant cataloguing data and images in the virtual museum containing these and similar artifacts.
This Flash animation game was developed on behalf of the Friends of Bonnechere Parks in partnership with Virtual Museum Canada. It was also produced en français: Fouilles en ligne.
